Responsible for the leadership, vision and general management of ECNG, John has over 13 years’ experience in the Canadian energy markets. John has held senior management roles leading many different functional groups including Accounting, Operations, Energy Supply, Business Reporting and I.T.
In his current role, John oversees the entire company to ensure optimum service to our clients. Prior to joining ECNG in 2000, John studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Ontario.
Matt has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Guelph and is an accomplished professional with over 18 years of sales and management experience in a number of industries including financial services, energy and energy-related industries. Matt began his career in finance, working in various Associate and Management roles at Merrill Lynch and CIBC World Markets, where he built and managed a team dedicated to providing unique investment strategies, products and services to high-net-worth clients across Canada.
Matt transitioned his career into the Energy Industry in 2005. Since then, Matt has personally or in a Leadership capacity overseen the successful delivery of complex and advanced energy risk management products and solutions to some of the most recognizable institutions across Canada and into the US. Matt has been with ECNG Energy LP since January 2012.
Angelo P. Fantuz holds a Chemical Engineering degree and an M.B.A. from the University of Windsor with 30 years of working experience in both technical and commercial sectors in the automotive and energy industries. Prior to joining ECNG in 2003, Angelo was Director of Eastern Marketing for EnCana from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, Angelo was employed by Union Gas Limited for 10 years where he was responsible for securing and delivering natural gas to Ontario from all major supply basins in North America.
Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management Economics in Industry and Finance from the University of Guelph and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA). Paul is also an active member of the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES).
Before joining ECNG in 2008, Paul worked with HealthPRO Procurement Services Inc. for over 7 years as the Director of Special Services and Energy Management. In his role at HealthPRO, Paul developed and managed a national portfolio of over 250 healthcare organizations.
Paul is accountable for the service deliverables to ECNG’s Healthcare, Property Management and Public Sector Clients.
Dave Duggan has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University and is a 20 year veteran of the Energy Industry. Dave is one of Canada’s leading authorities in the field of energy commodity purchasing and market fundamentals – specializing in both the Ontario and Alberta power markets, the Western and the Eastern Canadian natural gas markets.
Dave is accountable for the ECNG Energy Commodity Supply and Price Risk Management team. The team originates natural gas and electricity supply for utilities, institutional, commercial, and industrial clients across Canada. The team also oversees market intelligence, fundamental analysis, and financial modeling of risk management strategies for those commodities.
Lauren Tolhurst has held numerous senior-level roles within the Energy Industry over the past 13 years. Lauren was previously in charge of the Operations department for ECNG from 2001 until 2008 when she left the company to broaden her experience and undertake a number of client-facing customer service and sales positions providing her with exposure to a wide range of energy management services including procurement, demand side management, sustainability initiatives, demand response, utility programs and large scale energy retrofits.
Throughout her many years in the energy sector, she has developed a wide network of relationships with end-users, suppliers, utilities and vendors within the energy space. Lauren returned to ECNG in 2014 as Director of Operations. Her vast experience working closely with Commercial, Industrial and Institutional clients over the last 6 years will greatly complement her new role and allow her to work with her team to establish and maintain superior back-office systems and develop and deliver a comprehensive suite of reporting for our clients.
As an Director of IT with more than 23 years of experience, Ashraf lead the IT staff to successfully build and maintain the technology infrastructure and applications that assists the organization efficiently and smoothly to achieve the business goals and objectives and best serve its clients needs.
Ashraf combine his technical and managerial expertise with education and certifications all related to his field of work. This helps him to structure the IT department activities and projects based on proven best practices and standards. Ashraf graduated in 1994 with Bachelor’s Degree of Computer Science and minor of Business Administration. He also achieved PMP as well as ITIL certifications in all areas of IT Management which provides him with the best worldwide standards of both sides of his job: managing both the IT functions and managing the IT projects, as well as being Microsoft Certified Professional and Oracle Certified Professional.
Ashraf joined ECNG in September of 2002. Previous Experience for Ashraf prior to ECNG includes several international organizations like IBM and AT&T.
Todd has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University with 30 years in progressive Accounting and Finance roles in various industries. Before joining ECNG in 2017, Todd worked at AltaGas Ltd. for 12 years in senior Finance and Accounting roles with his most recent role being the Director of Energy Services Accounting as well as Office Manager. Todd has extensive experience in performing and managing Energy financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and daily accounting operation
Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Carleton University, a Law degree and a Masters in Law from the University of Western Ontario. Melissa’s broad experience spans North America and Europe working in Canada and Germany at International Law Firms specializing in the area of Corporate Law. Melissa has also acted as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Western in the area of Intellectual Property.
